We are seeking candidates for the following positions:

Surveyor / Project Manager


CECon is currently seeking an individual interested in being employed as a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor. An existing license is not required, but candidate must be working towards the goal of registration to join our team.

Primary Role: Completes a wide variety of survey projects, including route, topographic and boundary surveys.

Education and Experience preferred:

  • Associates or Bachelor degree
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in route / topographic projects
  • CAD experience in both AutoCAD and /or MicroStation, preferred but not required
  • Use of standard industry surveying software, Trimble Business Center (TBC)
  • Ability to read road and bridge plans, interpret deeds, perform route and topographic surveys.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Engineer


CECon has an immediate opening for a Civil Engineer with an interest or experience in site design. Proactive, self-motivated individuals will find a good fit here. This position will operate primarily utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D software to prepare design models and construction drawings.

Primary Role: Completes various engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses to a variety of projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Development of project design criteria, design calculations, construction details, quantities and cost estimates
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills in creating civil design plans
  • Prepare and check design drawings and/or specifications
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with team members

Education/Experience preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred.
  • Experience in site design and drainage analyses preferred.

Construction Inspector


CECon has openings for Construction Inspectors in west-central Indiana. Proactive, self-motivated individuals will find a good fit here. Primarily, work will be on projects in the transportation market (road/bridge), but work may also include utility, water resources, and/or land development markets.

Primary Role: Is responsible for daily inspection efforts on complex and diverse projects that require construction experience in roadways, bridges, utilities, grading, concrete construction, and/or drainage. Duties include inspection of work quality, materials, and workmanship; ensuring conformance with approved plans, specifications and contract documents; and maintaining records and preparation of project inspection reports. You will apply knowledge of construction practices and materials testing requirements to document Contractor’s construction progress.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and coordinate with contractors’ staff on a daily basis
  • Perform field testing of concrete, soils, aggregates, asphalt, and/or other construction materials
  • Maintain daily logs of test results and inspections
  • Write daily reports
  • Recognize basic construction or engineering problems
  • Able to read and interpret complex plans, specifications, and shop drawings
  • Able and willing to work a shift schedule and/or flexible schedule as required to support the workload, as well as in inclement weather
  • Proficient in applying standard testing techniques and procedures for the verification of material, including field testing of concrete, soils, aggregates, asphalt, and other construction materials
  • Able to lift 25lbs
  • Performs standard mathematical calculations, including trigonometry
  • Operate a pickup truck or similar utility vehicle

Qualifications/Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years construction related experience as a construction inspector desired.
  • A degree in construction, engineering or related field is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s License required.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience working on Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) projects preferred.
  • Hold (or able to timely obtain) all six INDOT Certified Technician Program certifications

CAD/ Survey Technician


Civil Engineering Consultants Inc. (CECon) has an immediate opening for a CAD / Survey
Technician for our firm. Proactive, self-motivated individuals will find a good fit here. As a CAD /Survey Technician at CECon, you would gather a variety of experience, assisting Licensed Surveyors with CAD related technical skills, including; boundary plats, ALTA / NSPS, Route Survey Plats, Reports, and topographic survey drawings.
